CDshark is an online cd store allowing independent artists worldwide distribution and sales. It is imperative that the independent artist is provided the opportunity to make their music heard and it is just as important to us that we are the vehicle to make the artist’s dreams a reality. Due to our current location in the heart of Europe, we have placed our focus on the independent artists that reside in the European community. However, it is in our best interest to cooperate with any artist spanning the globe.
CDshark is an online promotional tool that allows the independent artist to commercialize their music and art for free. Upon application and membership, the artist can create a profile and sell their music online to anyone all over the world. www.cdshark.com is located in the heart of Europe, which is an advantage when publicity is taken in consideration (i.e. periodicals, radio, Internet, showcases, etc.).
How much is the starting fee for artists to became member of CDshark?
The startings fee is Euro 17,- ($25,-) and there are NO monthly fees in order for the artist(s) to fully benefit from our services. CDshark only keeps 30% per sold CD. The artist receives the rest of the earnings and gets to keep it for him or herself.
How can I become a CDshark member?
It's very simple! Follow accordingly: Fill in the membership form at www.cdhshark.com. Send us a full size high-quality image (jpeg or gif only) of your CD cover art to info@cdshark.com. Send us three songs in Mp3 format to info@cdshark.com.
What is the difference in currency when comparing the Euro to the U.S. Dollar?
Multiply the amount of Euros by 1.34 to equal the U.S. Dollar amount. Example: 10 Euro's x 1.34 = $ 13,40
Can I terminate my membership at any time?
Absolutely! You must send us an e-mail to info@cdshark.com or call us at 0031(0)650414393. When this action is taken, we will remove your band's account from the website immediately and send your CDs back to you in the mail. Just remember: We started CDshark only to help your music career. It's all in your hands.
Can I sell more than one CD at a time on my band profile at CDshark?
Most definitely!!
Do the sales of my merchandise cover the cost of shipping and handling for the buyer?
No. The buyer must pay extra for shipping and handling. For example: Someone buys your CD while in France for 14 Euros. They will have to pay an extra 2.30 Euros for shipping and handling. Can signed bands become members at CDshark?
Signed bands are able to benefit from the services cdshark.com offers as well. However, it is imperative that the band consults their record label and management before doing so.
If the artist does not have a CD yet, can they still join CDshark?
Yes. in that case we will only sell your Mp3s
Can an artist sell their music using only their Mp3s on CDshark?
Yes. The average price is 0.99 euro or 1.25 U.S. dollar per track.
How much will CDshark take from every Mp3 sold?
CDshark takes 30% per Mp3 sold.
Does CDshark book their artists on tours, festivals and/or showcases?
At the moment, we do not have the time to secure our artists on a tour. We are too busy with starting up the website. In the near future, we intend to plan tours and send our CDShark artists on the road. We will also aide the artist in networking by hooking them up with booking agencies, venues and promoters all over Europe.
